(from Lifetime's press release, January 2012) Based on the growing popularity of their hit franchise Dance Moms, Lifetime and Collins Avenue are developing Ice Moms, a new docuseries about the world of competitive figure skating. The announcement was made today by Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President, Programming of Lifetime Networks. The focal point of Ice Moms will be the Dearborn, Michigan-based figure skating coaching duo of Laurie Vigilante and Adam Schmidt, who dutifully rule the rink and train their students who aspire to become champion skaters. With a determined approach to get the very best results from their students, Vigilante and Schmidt often ruffle the feathers of parents who endure frigid relationships with the two coaches who demand from students and parents the practice, precision and perfection required to succeed in the hit sport. |
