DESCRIPTION: (from ABC's web site, March 2009) How did good time girl Kate Sullivan become a serious contender for President of the United States? To find out, flashback 20 years and watch her as a young, not-so-promising prosecutor. Kate's roommate, coworker and competitive best friend Ellie is a rising star in the District Attorney's office. Kate, on the other hand, thinks of her public service job as a step-ladder to happily ever after - preferably with her main squeeze, hot shot ADA Dan. It's not that Kate lacks talent; it's just that she's determined not to make the same mistakes as her overly-career-driven mother. When her boss throws her a high-profile drug case, though, expecting her to lose and take one for the team, Kate begins to rethink her career goals. A not-so-chance encounter with legendary campaign manager Jack Brookshire inspires her even more. It turns out he knows all about Kate and wants her to run for Congress. Finding someone who thinks she's got the right stuff lights a fire in her, and with a few out-of-the-box tactics, Kate wins not only her case, but also the hearts of the people of Boston. Jump forward to election day, 20 years in the future, Kate is poised to become the first woman president of the United States, but... just who is the father of her fifteen-year-old daughter Sarah? Ally McBeal takes on The West Wing in this witty romantic dramedy from the creator of The Days, one of the executive producers of Dirty Sexy Money and the director of Galaxy Quest. As Kate tries to find a balance between her desire for both a fulfilling career and a happy home life, watch how she transforms from a frivolous party girl into a front-runner. You'll definitely want to... See Kate Run. |
