IN BRAITHWAITE, LOUISIANA, THE MAKEOVER OF THE FAMILY HOME OF A WIDOW AND HER THREE SURVIVING SONS IS THE SUBJECT OF "EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION -- HOW'D THEY DO THAT?"

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition -- How'd They Do That? Leslie Family" - On Sunday, April 3, viewers will witness how the design team from "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" rebuilt a house for the widow and three surviving sons of a husband/father who had once dreamed of renovating the place himself. The remarkable process and more of the touching story of this renovation in Brathwaite, Louisiana, near New Orleans, will be told MONDAY, APRIL 4 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Right before Christmas in 2003, Robin Leslie received the life-altering news that both her oldest son, Merlin, and her husband, Doug, had been killed in a car crash. Robin was left with a broken heart, an unfinished and rundown house, and alone to care for three surviving young children -- Spencer, six, and three-year-old twins Brent and Brandon. A school guidance counselor by profession, Robin now finds that she is the one who needs help, as does the home, where the boys sleep together in a room downstairs because their dad never got the chance to remodel their bedrooms.

As with all of the intense remodeling projects that "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" undertakes, there is a great deal that goes on that does not make it into the final broadcast. Now viewers can see all of that and more, including:

* For the first time, design team leader Ty Pennington asks for outside help on his "secret room" from two of Robin's girlfriends.

* How the show's locations department deals with the many challenges this particular show presents - including ferrying furniture and construction materials across the Mississippi River, and coping with the heavy rains that affect the entire worksite.

* Designers Paul DiMeo and Preston Sharp discovering some awesome antique barge board that they use to build a new table.

* Designer Paige Hemmis and friends of the Leslie Family releasing balloons with notes attached - their way of getting their thoughts to Merlin and Doug.
