"THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE" -- NBC presents an edge-of-your-seat new version of the classic disaster film that brings the story into the 21st century. The three-hour movie stars Steve Guttenberg ("Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus," "Cocoon"), Rutger Hauer ("Batman Begins"), Peter Weller ("Mighty Aphrodite," "RoboCop"), Alexa Hamilton ("Santa Barbara"), Bryan Brown ("Along Came Polly," "Gorillas in the Mist"), C. Thomas Howell ("Hidalgo"), Adam Baldwin ("The Patriot"), Sylvia Syms ("What a Girl Wants") and Alex Kingston ("ER"). In this all-new version, a diverse group of passengers and crew members struggle to survive after a terrorist bomb causes the cruise ship to capsize on New Year's Eve. As the inverted Poseidon sinks deeper and deeper into darkness, the small band of survivors make their way through the twisted metal of the inverted ship trying to reach the surface, while rescuers work frantically against the clock to get to the ship before it's too late.
