How could a man be so convincing on the phone that strangers would act out his cruel requests -- just because he told them he was a police officer? To find out, �Primetime� interviews those unknowingly involved in the hoax that occurred at a McDonalds in a Louisville, Kentucky suburb after an assistant manager there brought a young female employee, Louise Ogborn, to a back office and strip-searched her. Police say Ogborn was later sexually humiliated and assaulted after the assistant manager called in her fianc� who, alone with the young woman, police say, followed the caller�s demands, even when they became more and more bizarre. The four-hour interrogation was captured on video by a surveillance camera, which �Primetime� obtained... and it is amazing to see people complying without question. John Quinones� report airs on �Primetime,� THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Even more amazing -- the police believe that the same caller may have been carrying out this mind-boggling hoax for 10 years -- calling at fast food restaurants in cities across the country, always by posing as a policeman and ordering store workers to perform unthinkable acts, including strip searches of fellow employees and some customers � all via telephone. By the spring of 2004 there had been more than 70 cases of hoax phone calls to fast food restaurants, among them: a McDonalds in Hinesville, Georgia, where a caller convinced a 55 year-old janitor to do a cavity search of a 19-year-old cashier� a Burger King in Fargo, North Dakota, where a caller told a manager to strip-search a 17-year-old female employee� a Taco Bell in Phoenix, Arizona, where a caller had a manager pick out a customer and then strip-searched her. Police in Massachusetts had been looking for a man who called three Wendy�s restaurants near Boston in a single day and believe it may be the same man.

The report also follows the police trail to arresting the suspect, hundreds of miles away in Panama City, Florida, who has plead not guilty.
