�Primetime� Revisits: The Journey of Four Romanian Children with HIV Adopted Nearly Fifteen Years Ago by a Remarkable Family

Imagine Salvation Army bell ringers taking money from their own buckets or thieves stealing donation jars meant for hurricane victims and young children with cancer. During the season of giving, there are many surprising real life holiday grinches. They take money meant for children like Schuyler Lennox from Pennsylvania who, at two and a half, has leukemia. Her family depends on their donation jar to pay for gas money for hospital trips and medical incidentals not covered by insurance. But there are people like restaurant owner Rich Owens who won�t let such bandits ruin the holiday cheer. He helps the needy and disadvantaged, collecting nearly $7,000 annually through donation jars. And while several of Owens� jars have been taken over the years, he has found ways to safeguard the money he collects. Correspondent Jim Avila reports on �Primetime,� THURSDAY, DECEMBER 22 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Plus: The Belfiore family and �Primetime� know each other well. Correspondent Jay Schadler has interviewed the New Jersey family numerous times over the past 15 years. Their extraordinary story began in 1990 after Susan Belfiore saw a segment on �Primetime� exposing the dire situation of HIV-infected babies abandoned in Romanian orphanages. Susan traveled to Romania and ultimately adopted four HIV positive children, potentially setting her family up for profound losses. A decade and a half later, �Primetime� checks in with the family to see what their life is like today and the miraculous difference a loving family has made in the lives of these children.
