THE TEAM SEARCHES FOR A MISSING CONVICT WHILE TRYING TO DETERMINE IF HE'S A CUNNING ESCAPEE OR THE VICTIM OF FOUL PLAY,
ON A REBROADCAST OF "WITHOUT A TRACE," ON A SPECIAL NIGHT
AND TIME, SATURDAY, JUNE 3 AT 9:00 PM
"Penitence" -- While searching for a convict who disappeared during a prison yard fight, the team attempts to determine whether he's a cunning escapee or the victim of a sinister inside plot, on a rebroadcast of WITHOUT A TRACE, on a special night and time, Saturday, June 3 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Scott White, one of the series' producers, directed the episode written by Allison Abner. (Originally broadcast 1/13/05)
Despite the prison warden's insistence that the missing man, James "Mac" MacAvoy, escaped with another inmate during a staged fight, the team reluctantly agrees to investigate him as a potential Missing Person at the urging of Mac's despondent sister, Laura. Laura remains steadfast in her belief that her brother, who had been serving time for manslaughter, is not a runaway as he had not only "found God" but was scheduled to be released on parole in two weeks. The team also questions why Mac, a member of an Aryan prison gang, would plan an escape with a black prisoner.
