As the investigation unfolds, Gibbs and the team discover that the Petty Officer had been living a double life and had switched identities with a former colleague whose job of illegal transporting gives the team their first lead to the murderer. But the break in the case is short-lived when Abby uncovers a message the Petty Officer left before dying that leads them in an entirely different direction.
