WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO STOP A DRUNK DRIVER? ONPRIMETIME: BASIC INSTINCTS AIRING DECEMBER 27, 2006

When people see a situation that cries out for action, do they step in, back away or just walk on by? Primetime: Basic Instincts continues with the hidden camera series What Would You Do? that captures peoples reactions when confronted with dilemmas compelling them to act or mind their own business. Using hidden cameras, Primetime sets up scenarios where there may be no clear right or wrong answer, but which demand a decision nonetheless. John Quiones reports on peoples split-second and often surprisingdecision-making process. Primetime: Basic Instincts airs WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 27, 2007 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

? What will people do when they see a stranger who has had too much to drink attempt to get in a car? And will it make a difference when its a mom with her children? Primetime reports on how far people will go to stop a drunk driver.

? When a boyfriend is on the verge of physically harming a woman in a public park, will people intervene? Viewers see that some people show incredible courage while others just walk right by. But what will happen when the victim is a man and the abuser is a woman? Will bystanders show the same courage, or will their interpretation be completely different?

? When customers at a deli get back too much money from a cashier, will they say anything? With Primetime hidden cameras rolling, some people return the money right away, while others dont. In fact, more than half of the people walk out with the money. Quinones talks to them afterwards to get their reaction. Some claim they would have returned the money had they seen that they had been given incorrect change; others still keep the money even after Primetime informs them that they had been given too much change. And when Primetime changes the amount to $100, will it make a difference?

? How will passengers react when a taxi driver goes on an extensive racist rant or uses hateful anti-gay slurs....will they tell him to stop, keep quiet, or maybe even join in? Primetime captures some of the most compelling reactions to date from the series. What these passengers openly say about gays and race in America can be surprising.

Throughout the hour there will be an interactive component, where viewers will get a chance to go live to ABCNEWS.com and make their own predictions on what peoples basic instincts will be.

David Sloan is the executive producer of Primetime: Basic Instincts.
