PREMIERE

FOUR MEN IN A CAR JUST TRY TO GET THROUGH THEIR DAY -- AND THE REST OF THEIR LIVES -- ON THE PREMIERE OF ABC'S NEW COMEDY, "CARPOOLERS," TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2

Life in the fast lane the carpool lane, that is -- proves a hilarious occasion for male bonding for four guys from very different backgrounds in ABC's new Fall comedy series, "Carpoolers." These four use their commuter confessional as a way to commiserate about their jobs, their families, their hopes and their secrets, because in the carpool lane, no one can hear you scream. "Carpoolers," premieres TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network

Meet Laird (Jerry O'Connell, "Crossing Jordan"), a dentist and recent divorc turned womanizer who was left with nothing intact but his libido. Laird's best friend, Gracen (Fred Goss, ABC's "Sons and Daughters"), is a mediator, a voice of reason, and the unofficial leader of the pack. Then there's self-sacrificing Aubrey (Jerry Minor, "Saturday Night Live"), with a brood of kids and a stay-at-home couch-potato wife, and newlywed Dougie (Tim Peper), the carpool neophyte who's willing to risk his life to save a coveted parking space for the team.

In the premiere episode, "Pilot," Gracen wonders aloud how his lovely "house flipper" wife, Leila (Faith Ford, ABC's "Hope and Faith," "Murphy Brown"), can afford to buy a $200 designer toaster and how his deadbeat son, Marmaduke (comedian T.J. Miller), who struts around the house in nothing but his jockeys and a smile, suddenly lands an internet job making more than his dad. By the end of the day, the guys have their mission: to steal back the respect Gracen deserves by any means necessary.

"Carpoolers" stars Fred Goss as Gracen Brooker, Faith Ford as Leila Brooker, Jerry Minor as Aubrey, Tim Peper as Dougie, Allison Munn as Cindy, T.J. Miller as Marmaduke Brooker and Jerry O'Connell as Laird.
