AND THE BACHELORETTE AND THE HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS PROVIDE
TOUGH COMPETITION FOR GUYS VYING FOR JILLIAN'S HEART,
ON ABC'S "THE BACHELORETTE," MONDAY, MAY 25
"Episode 502" When Jillian disappears from a sexy pool party, eight bachelors are in hot pursuit as they attempt to track her down via an outrageous scavenger hunt for the ultimate prize a candlelit dinner and private time with the elusive Bachelorette. One man receives a "dressing down" before Jillian surprises him with her ultimate dream date: A private concert by country music super star Martina McBride. Finally, seven men face-off against the world famous Harlem Globetrotters to score points with Jillian. But after careful deliberation, Jillian must eliminate four men, as she tries to make her fairytale come true, on "The Bachelorette," MONDAY, MAY 25 (8:00-10:02 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
As the 20 remaining bachelors arrive at Jillian's luxurious villa hoping to win her hand, the first surprise of the season confronts the guys. The men must earn the right to live in the mansion and move out of the infamous "animal house" by receiving a date rose. It's a far cry -- although only a stone's throw away -- from the champagne life in the villa. And even worse, four bachelors won't be going on any dates with the Bachelorette at all this week.
Jillian asks eight of the handsome bachelors up to the mansion for a pool party. The men are quick to notice the rose that is beside her, and so the competition starts. But the guys are shocked when, just as the party gets going, Jillian drives off with the rose and the stunned bachelors learn they must go on a grand scavenger hunt all over Los Angeles to find her in order to have a chance to spend the evening alone with her. However, when the first team of two guys arrive to stake their claim to victory, Jillian, adorned in a million dollars worth of diamonds, has another twist in store for them. Only one man gets the rose and the candlelit dinner in a former bank vault. Unfortunately, it's the guy the other bachelors are convinced is wrong for Jillian.
One fortunate man is invited by Jillian for the first one-on-one date, but she's worried the bachelor might be too conservative for her. She makes him trade in his preppy khakis and button-down shirt for sexy western wear before taking him on a date she has long dreamed of: A private concert by Grammy Award-winner and four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Martina McBride at the House of Blues in Hollywood. McBride will sing her hit "Ride," as well as her new single, "I Just Call You Mine," from her new album, "Shine," which debuted at No. 1 on the Country Album charts.
Then seven lucky bachelors arrive at Venice Beach thinking they'll compete in a game of pickup basketball for Jillian's attention, only to find out that the legendary Harlem Globetrotters are their competition. One guy is so obsessed with making an impression that he borrows a "mankini" from a total stranger and streaks into the ocean. The group finishes off the day with cocktails at the exclusive Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica. Tensions run high when one alpha male is enraged with another bachelor's suave approach to Jillian. But the Bachelorette finds chemistry and a sexy kiss with one handsome man even though she offers her rose to still another.
At the swank cocktail party before the rose ceremony, the four men who didn't get dates try to make up for lost time. Then Chris Harrison introduces another twist: The bachelors must vote for the man they would most like to send home immediately. At the end of the night, 16 men remain to battle for Jillian's heart.
