"SPIDER-MAN 2.1," WITH SPECIAL DVD FOOTAGE, AIRS AS THE "ABC FRIDAY MOVIE OF THE WEEK," FEBRUARY 12

"Spider-Man 2.1," starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe and James Franco, airs as the "ABC Friday Movie of the Week," FEBRUARY 12 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. This movie presentation includes additional footage previously available only on the DVD and will be broadcast in HDTV format with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio via SAP. The 2004 film garnered the 2005 Academy Award for Best Achievement in Visual Effects.

This second film in the "Spider-Man" film franchise based on the fictional Marvel Comics character finds Peter Parker (Maguire) struggling to manage both his personal life and his duties as Spider-Man while he battles villain Dr. Otto Octavius (Molina), who is driven to insanity after his wife dies and a failed experiment leaves him with mechanical tentacles. Octavius' evil ways turn him into Doctor Octopus, as he terrorizes the people of New York City.
