SEVEN DAYS OF RAGE: THE CRAIGSLIST KILLER -- "48 HOURS MYSTERY" EXAMINES THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN THE CASE AGAINST ACCUSED CRAIGSLIST KILLER PHILIP MARKOFF ON SATURDAY, JULY 10, 2010 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

As court hearings begin in the case of accused "Craigslist Killer" Philip Markoff, correspondents Richard Schlesinger and Peter Van Sant will examine the latest developments in the story that captured headlines on 48 HOURS MYSTERY, "Seven Days of Rage: The Craigslist Killer" to be broadcast Saturday, July 10 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

In April 2009, Markoff, a second-year medical student at Boston University who was engaged to be married, seemed to have the brightest of futures - until Manhattan model and masseuse Julissa Brisman was discovered lying face down in a pool of blood in the hallway of the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel. Brisman, who was at the hotel to meet a client she'd connected with on Craigslist, had been battered and shot through the heart.

As the investigation unfolded, pieces of an astonishing puzzle emerged: investigators revealed that the same man was linked to two other assaults across the northeast, all involving women whom he contacted through the website's infamous erotic services classifieds.

Soon, authorities closed in on Markoff and a different image emerged of the clean-cut young student. Featuring interviews with one of the victims and a witness, the program examines the revelations that Markoff posted profiles of himself on several adult alternative-lifestyle websites expressing his interest in bondage, sadomasochism, homosexuality and in particular, his desire to be dominated.
