"RED EYE" AIRS AS THE "ABC SATURDAY MOVIE OF THE WEEK," AUGUST 7
Directed by Wes Craven, the heart-pounding thriller "Red Eye," starring Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy, airs as the "ABC Saturday Movie of the Week," AUGUST 7 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. The 2005 film will be broadcast in HDTV format with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio. (Rebroadcast: OAD: 8/1/09)
After attending the funeral of her grandmother, Lisa Reisert (McAdams) learns that her flight back to Miami is delayed. While waiting in the airport bar, the young hotel manager -- who is anxious to get back to her job -- meets Jack Rippner (Murphy), who is waiting for the same red-eye flight. Soon after take-off she learns that Jack has in fact kidnapped her in order to help facilitate the murder of the head of Homeland Security, who happens to be staying in her hotel. Jack threatens Lisa if she refuses to cooperate and, at 30,000 feet, she has nowhere to run.
"Red Eye" stars Rachel McAdams as Lisa Reisert, Cillian Murphy as Jackson Rippner, Brian Cox as Joe Reisert, Jayma Mayes as Cynthia, Jack Scalia as Charles Keefe, Beth Toussaint as Lydia Keefe and Colby Donaldson as the body guard.
