"Episode 1104/1004A" - The season's nine remaining couples will dance in-the-round for the first time in the show's history. On Monday's show, nine teams will dance the Rumba or Argentine Tango in a completely transformed ballroom, on "Dancing with the Stars," MONDAY, OCTOBER 11, (8:00-10:01 p.m.,ET), on the ABC Television Network.
On Tuesday's Results Show, a fourth couple will be eliminated from the competition. Also, a special Acoustic Week features the best-selling rock band Goo Goo Dolls as they perform a medley of the first televised performance of their new single, "Not Broken" and their classic hit "Iris," plus the singer Florence + The Machine performs her hit song "Dog Days Are Over." In addition, Macy's Stars of Dance presents a number from the Tony-nominated show "Forever Tango," on "Dancing with the Stars the Results Show," TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
The Goo Goo Dolls continue to build on the momentum they have created with the No. 7 chart debut of their latest studio album Something For The Rest of Us. The band will tour the country throughout October and will perform on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on December 14. The potent, melody-minded Something For The Rest Of Us has earned raves from such media outlets as Billboard and USA Today, which praise the heft of singer-guitarist Johnny Rzeznik's songwriting as he addresses the emotional fallout from economic upheaval, war and a 24-hour news cycle on society.
Florence + the Machine captured the attention of viewers and critics alike with an entrancing performance of her hit single "Dog Days Are Over" at the MTV Video Music Awards last month. In the wake of the epic show, Florence's debut Lungs (Universal Republic Records) sailed to the top of the digital charts. Merely 12 hours after Florence left the VMA stage, Lungs clinched the No. 2 spot on the iTunes Overall Album chart and No. 1 on the iTunes Alternative Singles and Alternative Albums charts. "Dog Days Are Over" also made a massive jump from No. 185 to No. 3 on the Overall Singles chart. This follows Florence's recent pop culture infiltration with "Dog Days Are Over" propelling the "Eat, Pray, Love" trailer, as well as moments of "Gossip Girl," "So You Think You Can Dance" and MTV's "The City." Florence's rendition of "Dog Days Are Over" turned millions of heads worldwide. Flanked by a gang of dancers, she transformed the VMA stage into her very own wonderland. She rose from a spinning platform in an ornate gown singing with soul, spunk and sass. In addition, "Dog Days Are Over" was the winner of the VMA for "Best Art Direction," further highlighting the artist's unique aesthetic. Florence conjured an inspiring and invigorating show that heralded her official arrival as one
of music's freshest new voices. Radio has begun to embrace her even more as well. "Dog Days Are Over" is currently seeing success at multiple formats including Alternative, AAA and Hot AC.
This week's Macy's Stars of Dance presents a dazzling performance by Forever Tango, the Tony Award-nominated Argentian show created and directed by Luis Bravo that features world class Tango dancers and a live orchestra of master Argentinean musicians. Forever Tango is the most successful theatrical dance show in history seen by over six million people worldwide.
By evening's end, one couple will be eliminated, as determined by a combination of the judges' scores and viewers' votes on dances performed on Monday's performance show. Who among the following nine teams will be next to leave the ballroom floor?
· BRANDY, actress and singer, and partner MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY.
