When People See a Situation that Cries Out for Action, Do They Step in, Back Away or Just Walk on by?

Using hidden cameras, "What Would You Do?" establishes everyday scenarios and then captures people's reactions. Whether people are compelled to act or mind their own business, John Qui�ones reports on their split-second and often surprising decision-making process. "Primetime: What Would You Do?" airs FRIDAY, JUNE 8 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Friday, June 8 Scenarios Include:

· Surrogate Scam: A pregnant teenage girl waits at a diner for the arrival of the adoptive parents for her soon-to-be born child. The couple arrives and the pregnant teen tells them everything they want to hear; that they will be great parents for her unborn child. She thanks them for the money they gave her, and then asks for more. Before leaving, the couple complies. Shortly after, another couple joins the pregnant teen. Couple #2 is as excited as the first couple, believing that they will in fact be the parents of the teen's soon-to-be born child. The pregnant teen proceeds to ask this second couple for money as well, to cover her expenses, assuring them that the unborn child will be theirs. Will any on-lookers stop this scam in progress? · Online Scams: At an internet caf� an older woman is having trouble with her computer and asks another patron for help wiring money to a man half way around the world for what she believes is a fantastic opportunity. It is pretty clear that she is being scammed. Will bystanders come to her aid? (OAD: 2/25/11)

· Pawn Shop Con: In a pawn shop, a customer claims to have a rare item. When the pawn shop owner goes in back to finalize the deal, the seller confesses to the bystander that the item is fake. Will the bystander say anything? (OAD: 4/13/12)

· Conniving Customers: What will happen when two young men try to scam a restaurant for a free meal by putting a bug in their soup? Will other diners turn them in, and does it matter if the scammers are two young women? (OAD: 1/20/12)

· Fake Panhandler: Imagine sitting down in a local outside caf�/park when you see a woman get out of her car and, before your eyes, transform from dressed up to dressed down. She pulls out a cup/sign and sets up shop to ask for spare change. What would you do? Would it make a difference if it was a man? (OAD: 11/5/10)

"Primetime: What Would You Do?" has won awards from the Chicago International Television Festival, and the Avon Foundation's 2006 Voice of Change award for exposing "injustice and wrongdoing against women and bringing the message of domestic violence to the mainstream."
