"48 HOURS PRESENTS: TEMPTATION IN TEXAS," 10:00 PM
"48 Hours" explores two cases of broken relationships and twisted mysterious murders in a Saturday night double feature to be broadcast Sept. 3 (9:00 PM and 10:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.
At 9:00 PM, Maureen Maher and 48 HOURS return to the investigation into the brutal murder of Juliana Redding, an aspiring actress and model found dead in her Santa Monica home - and whose killer, according to authorities, left behind plenty of evidence in an encore of "Hollywood Secrets." The evidence left behind would lead police to believe the killer was a woman, but whether they could make a case stick was an issue. The case involves a mysterious millionaire with international ties, questions of a hired killer and an investigation that lingered for two years before a stunning break would turn everything upside down.
Then, at 10:00 PM, Peter Van Sant and 48 HOURS look at the strange 2011 death of businessman Greg Williams in an encore of "Temptation in Texas." Williams was shot dead in his bed. His wife, Michele Williams, initially said he was killed by an intruder, but she changed her story during a 48 HOURS interview. The interview turned the case upside down and led police to believe there was far more to the story than everyone knew. The Van Sant interview with Williams was so critical that it was used in trial. The case exposed a web of strained relationships and allegations of extramarital affairs. Was Greg Williams killed by an intruder, as his wife said, or was he killed by someone else?
"I've been trying cases for more than 49 years. And Michele Williams' case has to rank up there as one of the most bizarre that I've been involved in. It had murder. It had sex. It had contradictions. It had a little bit of everything," said Tarrant County prosecutor Jack Strickland.
