Zelda Williams ('Dead of Summer') Narrates
Two sisters and their childhood best friends have to put aside their strong personalities and hurt feelings to come together on an all-new episode of "The Letter," airing TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 22 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on Freeform.
In the episode titled "OC Sisters," two sisters have to get past their pain and learn to work together if they are to ever truly move on. They recruit their two best friends, who grew up across the street from them, to join them as they take The Letter challenge. Each will draw names and anonymously write an honest letter to the selected person outlining their opinion of what behavior or actions need to change. The four girls hope the honesty will put the past in the past and help them face the future together as a team.
· Nakisa and Nasim are sisters and best friends, despite their 8-year age difference. Nasim, as the oldest of the group, likes being in charge and is always running everything. She says it's because she wants things done right. The girls want her to learn to trust others and stop trying to control the situation.
· Nakisa got married at 21, causing a year-long rift between her and Nasim. Now that Nakisa is going through a divorce, she's happy to have her sister back in her life, but she's never really healed from the hurt she felt when her sister turned her back on her.
· Aryan and Chelsea both grew up across the street from the sisters, completing the squad of lifelong friends. Aryan is a no-holds-barred woman, who tells it like it is, whether you want to hear it or not. Her friends love her, but her bluntness and lack of empathy can be off-putting to others.
· Chelsea is the self-proclaimed social media queen, who has turned herself into a business on
Snapchat. While she looks at it as a lucrative career, her friends worry that her obsession with
her looks and social media is going to hurt her in the long run.
When each friend receives their letter, they are required to follow all of the letter's instructions for one week. Nakisa and Nasim have to take a week-long trapeze class together and finally discuss what caused the falling-out; Chelsea has to smash her phone and get made up to look 30 years older; and Aryan has to help build houses for Habitat for Humanity.
"The Letter" is a bold, relationship show that asks the simple question: "If you could anonymously tell your best friend in a letter the things that he or she really needed to hear, would you do it?" In each stand-alone episode, four friends draw names and anonymously write to the selected person a thoughtful, yet totally honest letter outlining their opinion of what needs to be changed in order to improve and transform their friend's life for the better. For one week, each "reader" must follow all the rules and instructions outlined in the letter - culminating in a dramatic and emotionally charged meeting where the authors of each letter reveal themselves to their best friends. The series is narrated by actress Zelda Williams ("Dead of Summer").
"The Letter" is produced by Sirens Media, part of Leftfield Entertainment, an ITV America company. Executive producers for Sirens Media are Rebecca Toth Diefenbach, Valerie Haselton, Lucilla D'Agostino, Jack Mori and Arthur Borman. Zelda Williams serves as producer.
