Reinaldo is a history teacher, whose life is shaken when his wife, Maria Clara, suffers an accident and ends up in a vegetative state. Unable to pay for the hospital, he tries to end the suffering by strangling his wife and shouting words that question the existence of God. But Maria Clara miraculously wakes up. What Reinaldo doesn't know is that the whole incident had been recorded and the video went viral. Under the pretext of having no other choice, Reinaldo becomes a religious leader, going against all his principles and his family's too.
