CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- ADV Films has acquired the home-video and DVD rights to the syndicated action-adventure series "Mutant X."
In a press release to the media, ADV Films President, CEO and Founder John Ledford spoke highly of the acquisition: "'Mutant X' is an exciting program, centered around a group of mutants who unwittingly possess fantastic powers. Viewership proves that this is a formula that resonates strongly with viewers, and for good reason. No one is perfect, but everyone has hidden strengths."
ADV's releases of the title are expected to include extensive extras, including such exclusive content as commentary tracks from stars and staff, outtakes and bloopers and much more. Participants on two of the commentary tracks have been announced:
-- "The Shock of the New" featuring actor Victor Webster, director T.J. Scott and producer Seth Howard
-- "Fool for Love" featuring actress Victoria Pratt and director T.J. Scott
No release date(s) was given, however ADV is pushing for discs to be released as soon as possible.
ADV currently owns the home-video and DVD rights to fellow Tribune series "Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda," starring Kevin Sorbo, as well as fan-favorite "Farscape."
"Mutant X" is a joint production of Tribune Entertainment, Marvel Studios and Fireworks Entertainment and has been renewed for a third season.
