Pilot Update: March 17
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from various wire reports each morning:

THE BROTHERHOOD OF POLAND, N.H. (CBS) - Actor-comedian Brian Haley has been cast as the third and final brother (the other two being John Carroll Lynch and Randy Quaid) in David E. Kelley's latest.

CHASING ALICE (WB) - Theresa Russell ("Wild Things," "Glory Days") has been added to the cast of the WB drama "Chasing Alice."

COLD CASES (CBS) - Feature director Mark Pellington ("Arlington Road," "The Mothman Prophecies") is set to helm the Bruckheimer produced pilot.

DAKOTA DIGGS (A.K.A. UNTITLED VIVICA A. FOX PROJECT) (USA) - Sheldon Turner has come on board as writer and executive producer of two-hour backdoor pilot, now titled "Dakota Diggs." Turner replaces Jeff Eastin, who had originally been tapped to write and co-executive produce the pilot. Producers are expected to make some tweaks to the story - a Foxy Brown-ish drama about an L.A. public defender turned private eye - and push back the start of production.

THE HELP (WB) - Antonio Sabato Jr. ("Melrose Place") and Al Santos ("Grosse Pointe") have joined the cast of the Frog comedy pilot from Ron Leavitt ("Married With Children") and Original's Marty Adelstein.

HENCH AT HOME (ABC) - Craig Bierko ("The Court") has landed the lead role in the Michael J. Fox produced comedy. Bierko will play Terry Hench, a father of three and pro hockey player who's forced to retire. John Fortenberry ("Everybody Loves Raymond") has come on to direct the pilot, which is executive produced by Fox, Mitch Hurwitz and Danelle Black.

MY LIFE WITH MEN (ABC) - Geoffrey Lewis ("The Way of the Gun") has joined the cast of the comedy pilot as Paul.

PARTNERS (ABC) - Richard Gunn ("Dark Angel") has been added to the cast of the Alphabet web drama.

UNTITLED DAN FINNERTY PROJECT (ABC) - Michael DeLuise has been added to the cast of the still untitled comedy project.
