CBS Does Its Own Super-Sizing, Adds 'Price' to Sweeps Schedule

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- CBS will do some super-sizing of its own come May sweeps, as the Eye network announced special 75-minute editions of two of its series will air next month.
On May 19, the final Monday of the sweeps period, CBS will air 45-minute and 75-minute installments of "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "C.S.I.: Miami" respectively back-to-back beginning at 9:00/8:00c. ("Still Standing," which normally airs at 9:30/8:30c will wrap its season the week before on May 12.) Previously, CBS had aired 90-minute editions of "Survivor" and "C.S.I." during the February sweep. Both moves come after NBC who, for the past two seasons, has tried airing expanded editions of its Thursday comedies during the various sweep periods.
In other CBS news, the network will once again fall on "The Price Is Right" to work some magic in primetime. Three one-hour editions (May 3, May 10, May 17) will fill the Eye's Saturday, 8:00/7:00c slot following "Touched by an Angel's" exit from the lineup on April 26.
