CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- The Tuesday, June 17 telecast of Cartoon Network's "Family Guy" was the most watched program in the history of the network among adults 18-34, reaching 1,056,000 viewers in the category. It also set a new record for best-ever delivery of adults 18-24: 650,000 viewers. Such performances helped vault the series into the top 10 in adults 18-34 among all ad-supported cable networks for the week of June 16-23.
The news was just another milestone for the animated comedy as the series broke its previous record by 156,000 viewers (5/22/03). Combined with "Futurama," which also landed in the top 10 in adults 18-34 for the week, the former FOX series posted triple digit gains from Cartoon Network's numbers last year:
-- Monday-Thursday, adults 18-34 delivery (837,000) grew by 306%, and ratings (1.3) by 333%.
-- Adults 18-24 delivery (467,000) increased by 349%, and ratings (1.7) by 325%.
-- Men 18-34 delivery (615,000) expanded by 591%, and ratings (1.9) by 533%.
-- Men 18-24 delivery (348,000) ballooned by 452%, and ratings (2.6) by 420%.
In total, the Adult Swim lineup (Sunday-Thursday, 11 p.m. � 2 a.m.) ranked number one in its time period among all ad-supported cable networks in adults 18-34, adults 18-24, men 18-34 and men 18-24 for the second week in a row. Overall, Adult Swim is performing more than double the network's average from a year ago:
-- Adults 18-34 delivery (470,000) grew by 137%, and ratings (0.7) by 133%.
-- Adults 18-24 delivery (275,000) increased by 155%, and ratings (1.0) by 150%.
-- Men 18-34 delivery (337,000) expanded by 227%, and ratings (1.0) by 233%.
-- Men 18-24 delivery (190,000) ballooned by 153%, and ratings (1.4) by 133%.
