CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- At the request of the show's producers, the WB has pushed back its new drama "Fearless" until midseason. The news comes as production was set to begin on the series next week.
"After careful and thorough consideration, we have recommended to the WB that to best ensure the highest quality and attention for 'Fearless' that we launch the series at midseason. Were extremely grateful to The WB for supporting us and for allowing us this opportunity," executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Warner Bros. Television president Peter Roth said in a joint statement.
The duo cited not being able to find the right voice for the show as well as the decision to recast one of the lead Rachael Leigh Cook's two partners on the series. The drama stars Cook as a young F.B.I. agent named Gaia who genetically lacks the basic instinct of fear.
Production on "Fearless" is now expected to resume in October. In its place on the Frog's fall schedule the network has bumped up its midseason drama "One Tree Hill" to a fall start. The series stars Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty as half-brothers in a small town who become teammates on the high school basketball squad and fall in love with the same girl. Production was already scheduled to begin on the series on August 12.
The drama will air Tuesdays at 9:00/8:00c this fall following returning series "Gilmore Girls" at 8:00/7:00c. The switch marks the second major schedule change on the broadcast channels since announcing their fall schedules in May. CBS recently decided to bump its fall comedy "The Stones" until midseason in favor of its returning comedy "Becker."
