NBC Finalizes Sweeps Schedule (For Now)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- With November sweeps kicking off this Thursday, NBC has rolled out its complete schedule for the key ratings period.

Guest stars seem to be the recurring theme for the month as Ann-Margret, Bob Newhart, Dylan McDermott, Burt Reynolds, Tara Reid, Jewel, Alicia Keys, Hilary and Haylie Duff, Greg Kinnear, Christina Applegate, John Cleese, Scott Foley, Shirley Jones, Josie Bissett, Aisha Tyler, Beverly D'Angelo, Mariette Hartley, Sarah Silverman, Tiffani Thiessen, Amanda Detmer, Cliff Robertson, Wayne Newton, Mia Farrow, Rip Torn, George Segal, Blythe Danner, Carrie Fisher, Peter MacNicol and Kelli Williams are all set to make appearances on the Peacock. BABY(SITTER) BOOM WHEN RACHELS' KID SISTER AGREES TO WATCH HER INFANT; EMMY WINNER CHRISTINA APPLEGATE RETURNS TO GUEST-STAR -- Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) worries that her annoying and self-indulgent younger sister Amy (returning guest star Christina Applegate, "Married...with Children") is on the verge of making a lifestyle breakthrough, so she convinces her to step up and babysit infant Emma over Ross' (David Schwimmer) protests -- and soon regrets it. However, when Will's version of "the best of New York" -- filled with long shopping trips and high tea -- doesn't do the trick, Leo decides to move in a different direction. Meanwhile, Jack (Sean Hayes) teams up with his new coach Karen (Megan Mullally) as they prepare for the annual gay spelling bee. Debra Messing also stars.

"My Lucky Night"

SEAN AND ELLIOT'S RELATIONSHIP PUT TO THE TEST WHEN THEIR SECRETS ARE REVEALED; SCOTT FOLEY GUEST-STARS -- Sean (guest star Scott Foley) is a bit surprised and disturbed to learn about Elliot (Sarah Chalke) and JD's (Zach Braff) history together, but his anger is really a cover up for the fact that his "little" work trip is actually six months long -- and he doesn't want Elliot to explode. Meanwhile, J.D., who has been watching their relationship develop, finally acknowledges that he still has feelings for Elliot and has to come to either accept her new relationship or take action. Meanwhile, Dr. Cox. (John C. McGinley) is forced to swallow his pride and actually ask for help when he decides to compete for the Residency Director position. SAVIOR SULLY GETS NEW JOB GUARDING FEMALE JUDGE FROM ASSASSINS; ANN-MARGRET, MIA FARROW GUEST-STAR -- A grouchy Officer Sullivan (Skipp Sudduth) finds himself thrust on center stage when he reacts to a suspected bomb blast by pushing a noted female judge (Oscar nominee and guest star Ann-Margret, "Grumpy Old Men") out of the way but he chafes when the grateful jurist asks for him personally as her nighttime bodyguard until the would-be assassin is found. On other beats, Cruz (Tia Texada) convinces her superior officer to place her undercover again -- this time, teaming with Monroe (Nia Long) as a "masseuse" to expose a sex-for-medical-services scam. Meanwhile, Yokas (Molly Price) suffers a setback in her attempts to recover and Kim (Kim Raver) feels betrayed when she receives a written reprimand from one of her own. IDENTITY THEFT LEADS TO HOMICIDE - When a young corporate executive is shot to death the living room of his upscale brownstone, Detectives Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) discover the victim recently lost his job and was living off of a mysterious deposit of $400,000 to his savings account. Following the money trail, the detectives discover their prime suspect to be an elderly Harlem man whose identity was stolen by the victim in order to steal thousands of dollars. Lorraine Toussaint ("Any Day Now") reprises her roles as defense attorney Shambala Green in the episode. Sam Waterston, Elisabeth Rohm, Fred Thompson and S. Epatha Merkerson also star.

Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) and Kovac (Goran Visnjic) clash over a miscarriage-prone young woman (as Denny, Allison Smith) who arrives to deliver a premature baby -- Pratt wants to make heroic efforts to save the tiny soul while Kovac is dead-set against spending vast amounts of money to keep the child alive, but forever sickly. Elsewhere, Dr. Lewis (Sherry Stringfield) enjoys her time with a sarcastic patient (Emmy-winning guest star Bob Newhart, "Newhart") who once threatened to take his own life over his impending blindness. A distracted Kovac also runs afoul of a psychiatrist who over-medicates an abused foster child (guest star Michael Angarano, NBC's "Will & Grace") who wants to go back to his drug-addled mother. A REFORMED CALL GIRL PROVES TO BE KATE'S BIGGEST DATING CHALLENGE YET HER DIVORCE CLIENT BRINGS NEW MEANING TO THE PHRASE �FOR LOVE OR MONEY' - Kate (Alicia Silverstone) joins Victoria (Lake Bell) at a party where she is bartending, only to discover upon her arrival that all the beautiful women around the pool are actually call girls! Nevertheless, one of the girls, Sarah (Christina Hendricks "The Big Time") takes Kate up on her offer to help her find a real relationship. Sarah isn't happy with Kate's first choice for her, Barry (guest star Jonathan Silverman), opposing council in Kate's latest case, so when she meets Michael (David Conrad), another client of Kate's who happens to be looking for a date for a special event, she takes things into her own hands. Although Sarah and Michael seem to hit if off and she agrees to be his date for the party, a last minute change in Sarah's plans results in Kate having to step in as Michael's replacement date - a situation she isn't entirely upset about. Back at the office, Kate's client Meaghan (guest star Marita Geraghty "Groundhog Day") tries to gain some respect and access to the family finances from her husband Daniel (guest star James McCauley "Return to Paradise") by taking him to court. Ryan O'Neal, James Roday, and Jodi Long also star.

"Surrender"

SULLY FIGHTS TO KEEP VITAL JUDGE ALIVE FOR IMPORTANT COURT CASE; OSCAR NOMINEE ANN-MARGRET GUEST-STARS -- After another bomb blast threatens the life of a prominent judge (Oscar nominee and guest star Ann-Margret, "Grumpy Old Men"), a desperate Officer Sully (Skipp Sudduth) takes her to the only safe place he knows for the night -- his modest apartment -- as the police scramble to protect her until the jurist can preside over the murder trial of "Animal," a drug-dealing biker gang member. Meanwhile, a defiant Cruz (Tia Texada) seeks out the man who sexually humbled her while she was undercover as a masseuse but her vengeance causes her to forget a crucial court date to testify against "Animal." Elsewhere, a recuperating and furious Yokas (Molly Price) consults a psychiatrist over her extreme phantom pain for which doctors have no explanation. HOW CAN WIFE'S BLOODY SUICIDE POINT TO HUSBAND AS MURDER SUSPECT? -- When an Argentine immigrant is found slashed and beaten in the family's bathroom, Detectives Goren (VIncent D'Onofrio) and Bishop (guest star Samantha Buck) come to the surprising the conclusion that the wounds were self-inflicted -- but her husband's (guest star Thomas G. Waites) history of violence makes the police think he could have been responsible for other racially motivated murders that were discovered by his wife. But since they cannot implicate the suspect in his wife's death, Goren explores the family's tragic history on both sides and struggles to find a link to the kneecap-murders of a string of Jewish men. SAVING JESSICA LYNCH - (9-11 p.m. ET)

This original movie tells the incredible story of the heroic rescue of Pfc. Jessica Lynch during Operation Iraqi Freedom on April 1, 2003, based on a first-hand account from Mohammed Odeh Al-Rehaief, the Iraqi citizen who risked everything to help her. Jessica's inspiring story provided hope to the nation and the world and proved an example of triumph despite great odds and affliction. This is a story of incredible courage - the courage of a 19-year-old enduring a hellish ordeal, the Iraqi father and husband who risked everything to help her, and the American Special Operations team who defied the odds to bring her home. THANKSGIVING BRINGS FIRE FROM THE SKY RAINING DOWN ON SHORT-HANDED EMERGENCY STAFF -- On Thanksgiving, the staff struggles with a shortage of doctors as Abby (Maura Tierney) treats an HIV-positive woman (guest star Amy Pietz ) who thinks she might be pregnant while suffering from severe bleeding and an unexpected fiery holocaust in the sky threatens to engulf everyone in the hospital. Nearby, Dr. Lewis (Sherry Stringfield) is unaware that her "ex-husband" Chuck (guest star Donal Logue ) was involved in the disaster. Elsewhere, Dr. Romano (Paul McCrane) threatens to file a serious complaint against the brash Dr. Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) and Romano continues to ride medical student/nurse Abby with tough medical questions -- even as she wonders about what Dr. Carter (Noah Wyle) might be doing that same day in Africa. Laura Innes, Alex Kingston, Goran Visnjic, Sharif Atkins, Parminder Nagra and Linda Cardellini also star.

KATE TRIES TO START HER OWN THANKSGIVING TRADITION BY HAVING A FAMILY DINNER AT HER PLACE BUT WHAT SHE ENDS UP WITH IS ANYTHING BUT TRADITIONAL; JoBeth Williams guest stars -- As Thanksgiving approaches Kate (Alicia Silverstone), is facing major family issues both with her client, rapper Master Z (guest star Romany Malco, "The Tuxedo"), who is desperate to prevent his ex-wife from taking their two sons to Hawaii for the holiday with her new boyfriend and because her mother Liane (guest star JoBeth Williams, "Homeward Bound") and Jerry (Ryan O'Neil) refuse to be in the same room to share a meal. In the spirit of the holidays, Kate is able to negotiate a truce between her parents, although it means sending Nick (James Roday) to Las Vegas to shuttle her father home, while also inviting Master Z and his posse as well as Victoria (Lake Bell) and her wayward cousin, and her newly single client Lonniman (guest star Reg Rodgers "Analyze That") to join the festivities. Meanwhile, Amy (guest star Katherine Lanasa) apologizes to Kate about shutting her out of her relationship with Michael (David Conrad), but when Kate gets back in, she finds that their relationship is not as perfect as it seems to be and Michael wants out. He decides to cancel on Amy's plans to go to her parent's house for Thanksgiving, and ends up a Kate's house instead. A plan which backfires when Amy decides to change her plans too.

VENGEFUL CRUZ, BOSCO CLOSE IN ON MURDEROUS BIKER WHO ALWAYS SEEMS JUST BEYOND THEIR REACH --A reluctant Cruz (Tia Texada) and Bosco (Jason Wiles) work with the FBI as they doggedly pursue the elusive, drug-dealing biker (guest star Timothy Devlin) who killed her sister but the new information from their criminal informant (guest star Glenn Fleshler) only jeopardizes more lives in a spree of gunfire and mayhem. Meanwhile, supervisor Doc (Michael Beach) suddenly reappears for a shift on the street and demands the keys to an emergency bus as he re-teams with Carlos (Anthony Ruivivar) -- who receives grievous medical news about his baby daughter whom he gave up for adoption.
