CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- After two weeks of sub-par performances in its new Tuesday home, ABC has pulled its freshman comedy "It's All Relative" from its schedule.
"Relative" managed a 4.6 rating/7 share in households and a 2.8 rating among adults 18-49 this past Tuesday according to preliminary fast national numbers. Said scores mark the worst first-run performance in the network's Tuesday, 9:30/8:30c half-hour this season.
ABC had hoped that by moving the series away from its old Wednesday, 8:30/7:30c slot against "American Idol" its viewership would improve. Surprisingly, "Relative" was actually off from its last original airing against the FOX juggernaut (5.2/8 on 2/25/04).
The decision leaves two episodes of "Relative" on the shelf ("Doggy-Style" and "Fight for Your Invite to Party"). Repeats of "According to Jim" will fill the half-hour for the next two weeks ("House for Sale" on April 13 and "Dana Dates the Reverend" on April 20) while "Less Than Perfect" will return as previously announced on April 27.
Anne Flett-Giordano, Chuck Ranberg, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are the executive produers of the series, a co-production of Paramount Television and Touchstone Television.
