UPN's 'Half & Half' Is Now Accepting Submissions for the Half & Half Fasttrack, the Real-Life Contest to Find Exciting New Musical Talent

[via press release from UPN]

UPN'S "HALF & HALF" IS NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR "THE HALF & HALF FASTTRACK," THE REAL-LIFE CONTEST TO FIND EXCITING NEW MUSICAL TALENT

Submission Information Available Exclusively at www.upn.com

UPN's hit comedy series HALF & HALF will now begin accepting submissions for their innovative real-life contest entitled "The Half & Half FastTrack." Music executive Mona Thorne (Rachel True) is trying to find an exciting new vocalist or musical group, which will bring a reality element to the hilarious scripted sitcom. Submission information as well as contest rules and regulations can be found exclusively at www.upn.com.

Contest participants must submit a video-taped performance of an original song composition or a "cover version" of a song. All tape submissions must arrive in Los Angeles no later than Nov. 1, 2004.

During the season, Mona and her colleagues, Spencer (Chico Benymon) and Adam (Alec Mapa), will screen and discuss various video clips on air from performances submitted in the contest. In episodes to be broadcast in February, Mona, Spencer and a soon-to-be announced celebrity judge (or judges) will select five finalists from the entries. These five finalists will be flown to Hollywood and given national exposure by appearing in a special episode of HALF & HALF where the ultimate winner will be determined.

In the series, twenty-something half-sisters Mona and Dee Dee Thorne had only one thing in common - their father. Growing up separately, these two virtual strangers suddenly became neighbors in the same San Francisco apartment building and experience the challenges of sisterhood for the first time. Now that they have grown closer, they realize that despite their different upbringings they share more similarities than they thought.

Yvette Lee Bowser ("A Different World," "Living Single" and "For Your Love") is executive producer. Jeffrey Klarik ("Mad About You") created the series. The series is produced by Sister Lee Productions, Inc. in association with Eye Productions Inc.
