LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX plans to add to its already bulky midseason roster as the network announced today it has ordered 13 episodes of the drama "Point Pleasant."
"Point," described as a mix of "Peyton Place" and "The Omen," revolves around a beachside community that is turned upside down when a mysterious girl (Elisabeth Harnois) washes ashore. A pilot was shot for the 20th Century Fox Television/Original Television project last spring with FOX asking for several additional scripts over the summer.
Clare Carey ("Coach"), Aubrey Dollar ("Guiding Light"), Sam Page ("American Dreams"), Aaron Paul ("Wasted"), Cameron Richardson ("Skin"), Dana Davis ("Boston Public"), Brent Weber, Tricia O'Kelley ("Emeril") and Richard Burgi ("24") also star in the series, which comes from creators Marti Noxon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") and John McLaughlin ("The Last Good Time"). Original's Marty Adelstein, Neal Moritz and Dawn Prouse will executive produce alongside the pair.
"Point" joins FOX's deep midseason lineup, which includes fellow dramas "Jonny Zero," "The Inside," "Athens" and the fourth season of "24."
