WHITNEY HOUSTON CONFIRMED TO PERFORM AT THE "WORLD MUSIC AWARDS 2004" WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 ON ABC

In a Special Musical Tribute to Legendary Recording Industry Executive Clive Davis, Houston Will Perform a Medley of "I Believe in You and Me" and "I Will Always Love You"

For the first time in two years, Whitney Houston will perform on national television Wednesday, September 15 at the "World Music Awards 2004" (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) broadcast on the ABC Television Network. Houston's performance will honor legendary recording industry executive Clive Davis for his outstanding contribution to the music industry. Houston's special performance will consist of a medley of "I Believe in You and Me" and "I Will Always Love You." Clive Davis will receive the Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry Award Wednesday night during the telecast.

The show, which highlights the world's best-selling recording artists, will also feature performances by Usher, Celine Dion, Alicia Keys, Josh Groban, Avril Lavigne, Outkast (featuring Big Boi with Patti LaBelle), Hoobastank, Kanye West and Hilary Duff.

For 10 years ABC has broadcast the "World Music Awards," which previously took place in Monte Carlo. For the first time the 2004 telecast will originate live from Las Vegas. The show -- the only one of its kind determined by worldwide record sales only -- will be seen by more than a billion viewers in more than 150 countries this year.

The executive producers of the "World Music Awards 2004" are Melissa Corken, John Martinotti and Gary L. Pudney. The producer is R.A. Clark. Bruce Gowers directs.
