REVEILLE ACQUIRES FORMAT TO HIT BRITISH DRAMA 'NO ANGELS' FOR AMERICAN MARKET
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- September 21, 2004 -� Reveille has acquired the format rights to Britain's Channel 4 hit drama "No Angels" and will adapt the show for the U.S. market, it was announced today by Reveille CEO, Ben Silverman. "No Angels" is currently in production of its second season for Channel 4 and is produced by World Productions.
No Angels is a provocative comedy drama centering on a close-knit group of female nurses who live, work and play together. By day the girls struggle with life and death on the wards; by night they share a healthy appetite for uncomplicated sex and full-on hedonism.
"No Angels is a dynamic franchise with unapologetic characters living life at full speed. It's like nothing on TV today and I'm thrilled to be bringing it to American Television in conjunction with John Heyman and World Productions," stated Ben Silverman.
"We're very excited to be working with Ben to bring the distinctive flavor of "No Angels" to the U.S. audience," said U.K. "No Angels" executive producer Simon Heath.
Reveille's continued efforts to utilize key international relationships such as the exclusive "first look" deal with BBC Worldwide has resulted in the recent format acquisition of BBC's drama series "Judge John Deed," which is being adapted with Michael Chernuchin ("Law & Order") for NBC. Other recent international format acquisitions include RCN's "Betty La Fea," for ABC, Columbia's most successful and highest rated telenovela and Spain's hit series "The Serranos".
