TIM McGRAW TO PERFORM THE OPENING SONG
ON "THE 38TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS," TUESDAY, NOV. 9
ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK
Country superstar Tim McGraw will perform the opening song on THE 38TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS, to be broadcast live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tuesday, Nov. 9 (8:00-1l:00 PM; live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. As previously announced, CMA nominees Brooks & Dunn will host the Awards special for the first time.
McGraw will perform "How Bad Do You Want It" from his new album Live Like You Were Dying. A former CMA Entertainer of the Year (2001), McGraw is once again nominated in that category. He is also nominated as both artist and co-producer for Single of the Year for "Live Like You Were Dying." McGraw has earned eight CMA Awards, including consecutive wins for Male Vocalist of the Year in 1999 and 2000.
Previously announced performers are Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Shania Twain and Gretchen Wilson.
THE 38TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS is a production of the Country Music Association. Walter C. Miller is the producer. Paul Miller will direct the special from a script by David Wild.
