Oscar� winner Denzel Washington (Training Day, Glory) plays a man who goes to great lengths to help his son obtain a much-needed heart transplant in New Line Cinema�s dramatic blockbuster JOHN Q, making its network television premiere on Turner Network Television (TNT) Friday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 9, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. Oscar� winner Robert Duvall (Tender Mercies), Oscar� nominee James Woods (Ghosts of Mississippi), Anne Heche (Wag the Dog), Ray Liotta (Narc) and Kimberly Elise (The Manchurian Candidate) co-star.

In JOHN Q, Washington plays a down-on-his-luck factory worker struggling to make ends meet who learns his son is desperately in need of a new heart. Washington�s insurance company refuses to pay for the expensive surgery, prompting him to take a hospital emergency room hostage until the doctors will perform the surgery and save his son�s life.

JOHN Q landed at the top of the box office charts when it premiered in February 2002, eventually earning more than $71 million domestically. This gripping human drama marked Washington�s first role after his Oscar�-winning work in Training Day. For his performance in JOHN Q, Washington earned an Image Award for Best Actor.

JOHN Q is directed by Nick Cassavetes, son of the late acclaimed independent director/actor John Cassavetes and actress Gena Rowlands. Cassavetes� other directing credits include 1997�s She�s So Lovely and the 2004 romantic drama The Notebook. As an actor, he has appeared in such movies as Mask, Face/Off and Life.
