'AMERICAN DREAMS' TAKES A SPIN INTO THE PAST WITH FANTASIA BARRINO AND KELLY CLARKSON AS GUEST STARS IN SEASON THREE

BURBANK, Cailif. -- October 8, 2004 -- "American Dreams" continues as the forefront of blending music and television as it interweaves today's top musical stars into its innovative format. As the show embarks on season three, the songstresses that have captured America's hearts finds themselves embodying the legendary greats which have inspired them. Fantasia Barrino (most recent winner of "American Idol") joins the ranks with platinum superstar Kelly Clarkson, and Grammy-winner Brandy ("Afrodisiac").
Alanis Morissette kicks off November as a folk singer in the Lair with her original song, "Feast on Scraps." Then Barrino will portray megastar Aretha Franklin singing "R-E-S-P-E-C-T." Also in November, Kelly Clarkson reprises her amazing role as Brenda Lee, this time with "Rock Around the Christmas Tree." Sharing the episode is young musical prodigy JoJo, who won't be on Bandstand just yet, she will be a young Linda Ronstandt auditioning for American Bandstand with "That Will Be the Day."
Others to watch this fall include power punk band Hawk Nelson with The Who's "My Generation," Michael Tocher, 112, and Phantom Planet as The Zombies.
