MUSIC SUPER PRODUCERS JIMMY JAM AND TERRY LEWIS
TO JUDGE AND SELECT THE WINNER OF
THE HALF & HALF FASTTRACK CONTEST ON UPN
Multiple Grammy Award-winning music producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis will judge and select the winner of The Half & Half FastTrack, UPNs innovative real-life nationwide contest, which incorporates a reality element to the networks hilarious Monday night comedy.
Producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have worked with many highly successful musical artists, such as Sting, Usher, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, TLC, Mary J. Blige and Boyz II Men to name a few.
During the season, Mona (Rachel True) and her colleagues, Spencer (Chico Benymon), Adam (Alec Mapa) and Kai (MC Lyte), will screen and discuss various video clips on air from performances submitted in the contest. In episodes to be broadcast in February, Mona and Spencer will be joined by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to select five finalists from the entries. These five finalists will be flown to Hollywood and given national exposure by appearing in a special episode of HALF & HALF, where Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis will determine the ultimate winner.
Participant submission information for The Half & Half FastTrack contest is available exclusively at www.upn.com. Contest participants must submit a videotaped performance of an original song composition or a "cover version" of a song. All tape submissions must arrive in Los Angeles no later than Nov. 1, 2004.
Now in its third season, twenty-something half-sisters Mona and Dee Dee Thorne had only one thing in common - their father. Growing up separately, these two virtual strangers suddenly became neighbors in the same San Francisco apartment building and experience the challenges of sisterhood for the first time. Now that they have grown closer, they realize that despite their different upbringings they share more similarities than they thought.
Yvette Lee Bowser ("A Different World," "Living Single" and "For Your Love") is executive producer. Jeffrey Klarik ("Mad About You") created the series. The series is produced by Sister Lee Productions, Inc. in association with Eye Productions Inc.
