In the first segment of the annual Halloween trilogy, "Reaper Madness," Homer bludgeons the Grim Reaper to death and assumes the ghastly ghoul's role, armed with a scythe and a scroll listing Springfield residents not long for this world, including Marge. Next, in "Frinkenstein," Professor Frink revives his cryogenically frozen father, Frink Senior (guest voice Lewis), using body parts from various Springfield residents, and is awarded the Nobel Prize by Jennifer Garner (playing herself) and Dr. Dudley Herschbach. In the final shocking short, "Stop the World, I Want to Goof Off," Bart and Milhouse discover a watch that can stop time, which they use to play a variety of pranks. But when one of their jokes backfires, they end up being the only two people left on Earth and the watch's repair manual is written is German.
Then, come out from under the couch for the World Broadcast Premiere of THE X-FILES (7:30-10:00 PM ET/PT). When a terrorist bomb destroys a building in Dallas, FBI Agents Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) are drawn into a dangerous conspiracy surpassing anything they've ever encountered. With the dubious assistance of a paranoid doctor, Mulder and Scully risk their careers and their lives to hunt down a deadly virus that may be extraterrestrial in origin and could destroy all life on Earth.
