JENNIFER CONNELLY SHARES HER JOURNEY FROM CHILD MODEL TO ACADEMY AWARD-WINNING ACTRESS ON BRAVO'S 'INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO'

PREMIERES SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 7 AT 8:00 PM

NEW YORK -- November 1, 2004 -- On Sunday, November 7 (8:00 - 9:00pm) James Lipton welcomes Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly "Inside the Actors Studio." The fifth installment in the series' eleventh season, Connelly shares her experiences as a kid growing up in New York, becoming a model at the age of ten, acting in her first film at eleven, why she left Yale and what it was like to win an Oscar.

Although she reveals that she did not care for it, Jennifer Connelly launched her career by modeling. After transitioning to television commercials, legendary filmmaker Sergio Leone cast Jennifer for her first film, "Once Upon a Time in America" with Robert DeNiro. Connelly goes on to discuss working with Jim Henson and David Bowie in the film "Labyrinth" at the age of fourteen in addition to her work on the film "The Rocketeer." Connelly exposes how she considered putting the breaks on her acting career due to the roles for which she was being cast, stating that they were not the type of films she wanted to make.

Connelly discusses how uncomfortable she was with the explicit sex scenes in the films "Mulholland Falls" and "Requiem for a Dream." She talks about how she was pleased that she did those films, however they were extremely difficult. Connelly also focuses on her most celebrated role as Alicia Nash in "A Beautiful Mind." She shares details of her meetings with the real Alicia Nash who was more interested in how sexy Russell Crowe was than how Jennifer would portray her. Lipton's interview with Connelly also delves into her experiences on the films "Inventing the Abbotts," "Dark City," "Hulk," "House of Sand and Fog," and her upcoming release "Dark Water."

Other upcoming episodes of "Inside the Actors Studio" include: Mark Wahlberg on November 14, Natalie Portman on November 21 and Salma Hayek on December 5 (Sundays at 8pm).

Over the past ten seasons, "Inside the Actors Studio" has provided a forum for the passion, perspectives and perceptions of more than 170 of contemporary film, theater and television's most noteworthy contributors. Other guests appearing as part of the eleventh year of the series include William H. Macy, George Carlin, James Gandolfini, Colin Farrell, Cameron Diaz, Owen Wilson and Robert Redford.

"Inside the Actors Studio," which is now seen in 125 countries, was launched in April 1994 with Academy Award-winning actor and longtime Actors Studio President, Paul Newman. For the past ten years, the Actors Studio Drama School at New School University has opened its doors for a series of evenings featuring major actors and directors who discuss their craft and share the secrets of their artistic achievements.
