DAVID GROH REPRISES HIS 1990 "LAW & ORDER" ROLE ON NBC WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8, 10PM ET

Dann Florek makes special guest appearance

NEW YORK -- December 6, 2004 -- David Groh ("General Hospital," "Rhoda," "Get Shorty") reprises his role as convicted child killer Dr. Jacob Lowenstein in the episode "Fixed" on NBC's "Law & Order," Wednesday, December 8 (10-11 p.m. ET). Photos available at www.NBCUMV.com

When Dr. Jacob Lowenstein is struck and left for dead by a motorist just weeks after serving his prison sentence, Detectives Fontana (Dennis Farina) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) are not motivated to investigate the crime. They look inside the prison walls where he served his sentence -- and find evidence that leads A.D.A. McCoy (Sam Waterston) to make a startling discovery.

Said Groh, "To come back as Lowenstein after playing him fourteen years ago is a real treat even though he is rather an unsavory character. I love to play complex characters like Lowenstein who is extremely bright and charming, but yet he has that chink in the armor. He's a man who won't admit his deep guilt and sickness."

Additionally, Dann Florek makes a guest appearance as Captain Donald Cragen from NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit." Florek's role as Captain originated on the first three seasons of "Law & Order." S. Epatha Merkerson, Elisabeth Rohm, Sam Waterston and Fred Dalton Thompson also star.

Groh formerly guest-starred in the 1990 episode "Indifference," where a shocking child-abuse case centers on the shady past of drug-addicted psychiatric therapist Lowenstein. He is best known from CBS's 1974 sitcom "Rhoda" as Rhoda's husband and on ABC's "General Hospital." He also appeared in the films "Get Shorty," "Two Minute Warning" and had a recurring role on "Melrose Place." Other television credits include "L.A. Law," "The X-Files," "Jag" and "Murder She Wrote." Groh is also an experienced stage actor with roles in the Broadway plays "Twilight of the Golds" and "Chapter Two" and several Off-Broadway and regional productions.

"Law & Order" is a Wolf Films production in association with NBC Universal Television Studio. Dick Wolf is creator and executive producer; Matthew Penn, Eric Overmyer, Peter Jankowski and Roz Weinman are executive producers.
