CBS Picks Up The 11th and 12th Editions of Television's Most Watched Reality Program
For 2005-2006
SURVIVOR, television's longest running and most successful reality series, has been picked up for its 11th and 12th editions -- both to be broadcast in the 2005-2006 season.
This season, SURVIVOR: VANUATU is the number one reality program on television. Like all of its previous eight editions, VANUATU ranks among the top 10 programs in viewers and key demographics, averaging 19.65 million viewers, 7.4/20 in adults 18-49, 5.6/17 in adults 18-34 and 8.7/21 in adults 25-54.
SURVIVOR: VANUATU has beaten "The OC" and "Joey"/"Will & Grace" every time the four programs have competed in households, viewers, adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. SURVIVOR has beaten "Joey" every week the two programs competed this season in households, viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.
Sunday's SURVIVOR: VANUATU finale posted a 10.9/16 with 19.72m viewers, 8.6/17 in adults 25-54, 7.5/16 in adults 18-49 and 5.3/13 in adults 18-34. From 8:00-10:00PM, the SURVIVOR: VANUATU finale was first in viewers, adults 25-54 and tied for first in adults 18-49 (with ABC).
The multi Emmy Award nominated SURVIVOR won the Emmy in 2001 for Outstanding Non-Fiction Programming. SURVIVOR has also been the recipient of The People's Choice Award for Best Reality-Based Program for the past four consecutive years.
