SNL UNVEILS JANUARY HOSTS, MUSIC

"SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE" KICKS OFF NEW YEAR WITH CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED ACTORS AND HOT MUSIC

70's Show Star Topher Grace to host on January 15 with hot band The Killers

Award Winning "Sideways" Star Paul Giamatti hosts January 22 with hip-hop star Ludacris (with special appearance by Sum 41)

New York, NY January 10, 2005 NBC's "Saturday Night Live" opens 2005 with two top actors and two chart-topping musical acts.

On January 15, SNL welcomes "That 70's Show" star Topher Grace. A fixture on the hit sitcom for seven years, Grace has made a seamless and lauded transition to film he is currently garnering rave reviews for his starring role opposite Dennis Quaid and Scarlett Johansson in "In Good Company." He recently received a Breakthrough Acting Award from the National Board of Review for this film as well as his star turn in "P.S." with Laura Linney. Grace's made his film debut in the powerful film "Traffic." He went on to make two memorable cameos as himself in "Ocean's Eleven" and its sequel "Ocean's Twelve." In addition, he was recently seen in the romantic comedy "Win A Date With Tad Hamilton" and "Mona Lisa Smile."

Also making their SNL debut is critically acclaimed and Grammy nominated band The Killers. The group's debut record "Hot Fuss" has landed on numerous year-end best lists including Spin, Rolling Stone and Blender's Best Album and Song Lists of 2004. The 80's influenced "Hot Fuss" is nominated for three Grammys for Best Rock Album, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Group for their first single "Somebody Told Me."

The following week on January 22 award-winning actor Paul Giamatti makes his SNL debut. Currently receiving countless accolades including a Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actor for the universally praised comedy "Sideways." A versatile character actor with impressive film, theater and television credits, Giamatti first captured audience's attention as Howard Stern's nemesis in the hit "Private Parts." He won acclaim and outstanding reviews for his role as Harvey Pekar in last year's "American Splendor." He'll next be seen opposite Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger in Ron Howard's "Cinderella Man." Other credits include: "Man on the Moon," "Donnie Brasco," "Saving Private Ryan" "Cradle Will Rock" "Planet of the Apes" and "The Truman Show" (to name a few).

Appearing alongside Giamatti is hip-hop superstar Ludacris. In a rare and special collaboration, Luda will perform his hit new single "Get Back" (which is rapidly climbing all the singles charts) backed by best-selling rock band Sum-41. With his red-hot fourth release "The Red Light District" is currently blazing in the Billboard Top Ten, the high-energy, sought-after Ludacris continues to break down the boundaries of hip-hop. The multi-platinum artist has sold over 10 million albums and continues to be at the forefront of hip-hop's "Dirty South."
