'Craft Corner Death Match' Offers Viewers Mayhem Over Macrame and Much More!

'Craft Corner Death Match,' the New 13-Part Ultimate Craft Series (From the Producers of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) to Debut on The Style Network on Wednesday, March 9, at 10:00 PM ET/PT

Half-Hour Series Hosted by 'Ringmaster' Jason Jones, Pits Amateur Competitors Against Each Other and Series' Silent and Silhouetted 'Craft Lady of Steel'

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 11 -- It's Martha Stewart Living meets Iron Chef meets ... Gladiator?! The Style Network is bringing domestic artisans where they've never gone before in the creative new competition comedy series "Craft Corner Death Match," set to debut on Wednesday, March 9, at 10:00 PM ET/PT. The announcement was made today by Ted Harbert, President & CEO, E! Networks.

"'Craft Corner Death Match' offers a unique twist on lifestyle service and game shows by blending the hugely popular craft and design genre with the outrageous and comedic notion that creating homemade handiwork is an extreme sport," said Harbert.

Hosted by Jason Jones, this comical competition show pits amateur do-it- yourselfers against each other in various craft-making challenges. Armed with nothing more than a hot glue gun and a few artsy essentials (scissors, twine, glitter, etc), the contestants vie to create their best homemade designs. The projects are then critiqued by a panel of expert judges based on technique, utility and creativity, and the winner of the first two rounds advances to face off with "Craft Corner Death Match's" 'Craft Lady of Steel.' Despite the comedy of the competition, each episode is woven with genuine crafting tips and contestants really do play to win! After all, it's not just a bounty of prizes at stake; each contestant's ingenious reputation and artistic honor are also on the line! Adding to the madness of the competition are the cheers and jeers of a barely restrained live studio audience, perched safely behind a chicken wire fence.

A 13-part half-hour series, "Craft Corner Death Match" is being produced for E! Networks by Idiot Box Productions, with Jo Honig and Dan Taberski (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) of Idiot Box Productions serving as Executive Producers, and Jennifer Daly and Phil Eigner serving as E! Networks' Executives Producers for the series.

Jason Jones is a graduate of Ryerson Theatre School and was nominated for "Best Writing" by the Canadian Comedy Awards 2001.
