LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The Television Critics Association began its winter press tour this week in which the various broadcast and cable networks talk about their upcoming plans to the nation's top critics and entertainment reporters. It's during these sessions the networks roll out most of their midseason plans as well as look back at the highs and lows of the new season.
Here's some additional notes from the panels that weren't covered in their respective press releases:
ABC Family
LAS VEGAS GARDEN OF LOVE - The reality project, which originally went by the title "Garden of Love in the City of Sin," will now premiere Monday, March 21 at 10:00/9:00c - one week later than previously indicated. The series tracks a dynamic Las Vegas family that owns and runs a wedding chapel.
LOOKS OF LOVE (New!) - The ABC sibling announced it has ordered six episodes of a new "Blow Out"-esque reality series about the "workplace family" of hairstylists at the "Looks of Love Hair Salon" in Los Angeles. The project, which comes from Scott Mesick's Mess Media ("NASCAR Drivers: 360"), is set to begin shooting on January 21. Mesick will executive produce the series along with James Weitz.
ORIGINAL MOVIES - Aside from "School of Life" (February 18), the cable channel didn't specify air dates for any of its upcoming original movies. Among those in the works (all previously announced) are: "Blended," featuring Josie Bissett and Rob Estes as two single parents who impulsively marry much to the ire of their combined eight children; "Pizza Wars," a contemporary spin on "Romeo and Juliet" set against two rival pizzerias in Verona, New Jersey; and "Wildfire," a backdoor pilot about a girl in her late teens who ends up working with a racehorse.
