BURBANK � February 1, 2005 � NBC sweeps into February powered by a special saluting the first five years of "Saturday Night Live," Valentine's Day-themed episodes of "Joey," "Will & Grace" and "Las Vegas," a dramatic crossover between "Medical Investigation" and "Third Watch" and award-winning film and television stars on primetime series.

In addition to the special reality star episode of "Fear Factor," NBC will further spotlight the show with a Las Vegas-themed episode that immediately precedes series host Joe Rogan guest-starring on "Las Vegas" on February 21. Further, Christopher Noth reprises his former "Law & Order" role as Detective Mike Logan on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" on February 13 and Stephanie March returns to "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" on February 22. A special episode of "Scrubs" parodies the traditional sitcom and features scenes shot in front of a live studio audience. Clay Aiken also guest stars in this innovative episode.

NBC's varied array of guest stars will include Jay Leno appearing on "Joey," Jeff Goldblum, Edward Burns, Chita Rivera, Michele Lee, Luke Perry and Patti LuPone on "Will & Grace," Wyclef Jean and Dame Helen Mirren on "Third Watch," Clay Aiken and Tara Reid on "Scrubs," Valerie Harper on "Committed," Sylvester Stallone, Dean Cain, Joe Rogan and the Pussy Cat Dolls on "Las Vegas," Sandra Bernhard on "Crossing Jordan" and Cynthia Nixon, and Frances Fisher on "ER," Mary Louise Parker on "The West Wing" and Rosanna Arquette on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."

HEEEERE'S JOEY! JAY LENO APPEARS AS HIMSELF -- Joey (Matt LeBlanc) gets the chance of a lifetime to appear with guest star Jay Leno (as himself) on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," when a major movie star cancels her appearance. On his way to the "Tonight Show," Joey becomes increasingly worried that he won't make it on time when a big rig overturns on the freeway and he starts to panic. Drea de Matteo, Jennifer Coolidge, Paulo Costanzo and Andrea Anders also star.

WILL & GRACE � (8:30-9 p.m.)
"Bully Woolley"

DON'T LIE TO ME ARGENTINA-- JEFF GOLBLUM AND PATTI LUPONE GUEST-STAR -- Scott Woolley (guest star Jeff Goldblum), Karen's arch nemesis, hires Grace (Debra Messing) to design his new restaurant under the condition that Grace will fire Karen (Megan Mullally) from her design firm. Grace later tells Karen about the incident and they realize the man that hired Grace is really the plotting Scott. Grace and Karen decide to trap him in his lie. Meanwhile, Jack (Sean Hayes) takes Will (Eric McCormack) out for a boys' night to get his mind off Vince, but ends up abandoning Will at the club. The next day, Will confronts Jack about his selfish behavior and, in an effort to make amends, Jack takes Will out to dinner and tries to focus all of his attention on his friend. That grows difficult when Broadway star Patti LuPone ("Evita") enters the restaurant and Jack can barely control his enthusiasm.

THE APPRENTICE � (9-10 p.m.)
"Trouble Is Brewing"

WHO CAN CREATE THE BIGGEST P.R. BUZZ? -- The 16 remaining hopefuls are tasked to create a PR campaign for instant coffee. One team becomes very angry with a lazy member and another candidate makes a decision that has permanent ramifications and leaves everyone in a state of shock. In the boardroom, the buzz eventually wears off as Donald Trump fires another candidate.

"Middleman"

CUTTING CORNERS COSTS LIVES IN THE E.R. -- While examining a young boy, Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) finds a suspicious gash across his chest and calls Wendall (Madchen Amick) for a consult while Kovac (Goran Visnjic) and Pratt examine a man who got shot when he confronted his boss with a gun. Jake (Eion Bailey) tries to convince Abby (Maura Tierney) that being a student shouldn't keep him from dating her. Also starring are Sherry Stringfield, Laura Innes, Noah Wyle, Shane West, Parminder Nagra and Linda Cardellini.

FINNEY SEARCHES FOR A KIDNAPPED CHILD WHO'S THREATENED BY MURDEROUS FATHER -- Finney (Josh Stewart) races against time when a frightened boy (guest star Zack Savage) he's befriended calls him in desperation after being kidnapped by his tormented and abusive father -- who has already repeatedly stabbed the boy's mother. Davis (Coby Bell) joins him on the case, as Finney tries to put aside his family's recent grief and focus on tracing the child's location before the father completes his death wish. In addition, a confused Carlos (Anthony Ruivivar) comes to a shaky understanding with his romantic partner, fellow paramedic Levine (Yvonne Jung). Cara Buono, Nia Long, Skipp Sudduth and Molly Price also star.

FINDING SOURCE OF DEADLY PLAGUE LEADS TO SOME CREATIVE DETECTIVE WORK FOR CONNOR'S UNIT -- Evidence of a strange plague is found near Baltimore as Dr. Connor (Neal McDonough), Dr. Durant (Kelli Williams) and the response team arrive and discover a deadly link between infected police officers and a fugitive that adds a more chilling dimension to their investigation. When two children also display symptoms of the resistant contagion, Connor and Frank (Troy Winbush) desperately work backwards to connect the dots and limit the contamination while curing those already sick. Christopher Gorham and Anna Belknap also star.

COUPLES CONTEST CONTINUES -- In the sixth episode of a special seven-part couples contest, four couples remain to test their relationships by facing fear as a team and working together to capture an ultimate payoff of $1 million. In one of this episode's stunts, the male contestant is trapped in a cage filled with huge bullfrogs while his counterpart searches through pits of rats and snakes for the keys to free him. ROLE REVERSALS -- When the hotel enters one of its slowest weeks of the year, Ed (James Caan) decides to stir things up a bit by switching everyone's job positions around so they can walk in one another's shoes. Delinda (Molly Sims) takes over for Ed and finds herself bored stiff after having to attend a city hall meeting while Sam (Vanessa Marcil) and Mary (Nikki Cox) take over surveillance. Meanwhile, Danny (Josh Duhamel) is in charge of the casino floor and runs into an old high school buddy who's having extremely unusual and suspicious luck winning millions of dollars. VISIONS OF A SERIAL KILLER DANCE IN HER HEAD - When a good Samaritan (guest star Reed Diamond) shows up at the D.A.'s (Miguel Sandoval) office to offer information on a recent burglary, Allison (Patricia Arquette) is convinced that he is a heinous serial killer of young women who has been haunting her dreams. In her effort to produce evidence against him, Allison tracks down a victim named Sharona who still appears very much alive. Meanwhile, Joe (Jake Weber) wonders if Allison's obsession with the suspected killer is due to the possibility that she is pregnant again. Sofia Vassilieva and Maria Lark also star.

A series of unfortunate events bring J.D. And Kylie to Sacred Heart on their first date, where J.D. accidentally initiates a SARS quarantine and is forced to resort to desperate measures to make a good impression. While the hospital is in lockdown, the rest of the staff recounts various first date stories leading to the revelation that Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) and Carla (Judy Reyes) dated in the past. Tara Reid guest stars as Zack's ex-girlfriend.

DON'T CHANGE THE RULES -- After a mugging incident and a horrible day, Marni (Jennifer Finnigan) and Nate (Josh Cooke) decide they want to "de-tox" from the city by spending an entire week inside Marni's apartment with no outside contact. After a few hours, Marni and Nate begin to crack but are too stubborn to break their pact and go outside. A PROSTITUTE IS FOUND DEAD AND THE SUSPECTS ARE TEENAGERS -- BARRY BOSTWICK GUEST-STARS � When Detectives Stabler (Chris Meloni) and Fin (Ice-T) investigate the rape and murder of a prostitute, the detectives find that the teenagers were re-enacting scenes from their favorite video game. The case goes to court, and tension builds as Novak (Diane Neal) must argue against opposing counsel Gates (guest star Barry Bostwick) that the teenagers were influenced by the violent video game. (Allison Janney) is reluctant to awaken the President (Martin Sheen) even as the hawkish British prime minister considers bombing Iran's nuclear reactors in retaliation. After learning that the passenger jet was mistaken for a U.S. spy plane, Bartlet calls in British ambassador Lord John Marbury (guest star Roger Rees, "Cheers"), as they debate whether a strike is the perfect excuse to wipe out the atomic sites or if it will set back reform movements in the rogue nation. Elsewhere: Abby (Stockard Channing) and C.J. war over the President's schedule for rest; Toby (Richard Schiff) and a legal professor (guest star Christopher Lloyd, "Taxi") try to pound out a new democratic constitution with representatives of Belarus -- and everyone keeps dodging the traditional White House appointment with Miss Universe.

TALKED-ABOUT TALK SHOW HOST IS SILENCED BY GUNSHOTS AS DETECTIVES QUESTION MERRY WIDOW -- After a controversial and conservative talk show host is shot to death, Detectives Fontana (Dennis Farina) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) consider a wealth of likely suspects but focus on Miranda (guest star Paula Devicq, "Party of Five") - who would inherit his estate only upon death - as well as on Karen (guest star Dana Eskelson), a tormented woman who claims she had an affair with the new widow. As new A.D.A. Borgia (new series regular Annie Parisse) sizes up the case, she finds disturbing evidence that Karen was stalking the widow, whose secret love life yields a treasure trove of evidence. Connor dispatches Miles (Christopher Gorham) to check out a suspicious series of miscarriages at a military base hospital while he and Dr. Durant (Kelli Williams) confront a cluster of spontaneous paralysis among people who worked near the former World Trade Center until September 11, 2001. One of them, a hard-driving workaholic (guest star Lola Glaudini), strikes a sympathetic chord with Durant who is stymied when she tries to forge a sisterly bond -- until the doctor discovers her uptight patient requires anti-depressants. PRISON GUARD'S SLAYING RIPS LID OFF CORRUPT PRISON; GUEST STAR CHRISTOPHER NOTH REPRISES 'LAW & ORDER' ROLE -- The murder of a corrections officer points the Major Case squad toward a corrupt Brooklyn prison where unaccounted-for prisoners are secretly abused by guards -- and the key to exposing the ring lies with a prison nurse whose boyfriend is the maverick Detective Mike Logan (Christopher Noth, NBC's "Law & Order"). As Logan warily aids Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) in their probe, they discover an unseemly political connection and ultimately must jeopardize their lives inside the foreboding walls. NEW EVIDENCE CASTS DOUBT ON A CASE FROM JORDAN'S PAST; SANDRA BERNHARD GUEST-STARS AS DETECTIVE -- The suicide of a one-armed Boston man leads Jordan (Jill Hennessy) to uncover the missing murder weapon from an eight-year-old Los Angeles homicide in which she helped send the alleged murderer to death row. However, with five days to go before the execution, Jordan and Woody (Jerry O'Connell) head to L.A. hoping to find evidence that will save an innocent life. Elsewhere, when the body of a vagrant whom Bug (Ravi Kapoor) witnessed being kidnapped ends up in the morgue, the troubled scientist teams up with Detective Roz Framus (guest star Sandra Bernhard, "Roseanne") in his search for answers. HEART-STOPPING STUNT FOR FINALE OF COUPLES' SEVEN-EPISODE CONTEST -- It's down to three remaining couples in this seventh episode finale of a special seven-part couples contest, and the highlight is one of the most elaborate and spectacular challenges ever. The lovers must leap from a boat to a rope ladder hanging from a helicopter that then lands atop a moving semi-truck. Enclosed in the truck is a car they have to start and drive through the back cargo doors. Up to this episode, couples have tested their relationships by facing fear as a team and working together to capture an ultimate payoff of $1 million. Joe Rogan hosts the series.

"Tainted Love"

SAM'S HUSBAND RETURNS AS PUSSY CAT DOLLS AND DEAN CAIN GUEST-STAR -- Sam (Vanessa Marcil) is over the moon about hosting the "whale of all whales" -- a billionaire (guest star Dean Cain, "Ripley's: Believe It or Not") she's hooked to stay at the Montecito � but with her hands full, she tosses her other clients onto Mary (Nikki Cox) and Delinda (Molly Sims). Things get out of hand when Mary discovers her client is cheating the horse-racing system, requiring Danny (Josh Duhamel) to fly up and come to her aid. Meanwhile, Sam falls apart when she realizes that her client is her husband from whom she's been separated for seven years. Elsewhere, Ed (James Caan) is slapped with jury duty on Valentine's Day and suffers the wrath of Jillian (Cheryl Ladd). ALLISON SUSPECTS THAT A YOUNG WOMAN'S DEATH IS MORE THAN SUICIDE -- When Allison (Patricia Arquette) dreams about a young woman who commits suicide by jumping off a cliff, she checks with Missing Persons and finds the body of a girl in a ravine. The dead girl's boyfriend, Gregg Watt (guest star Thomas Ian Nicholas), a suicide hotline volunteer, is also the son of defense attorney Larry Watt (guest star Conor O'Farrell) -- who previously threatened to expose Allison's gift in court. While physical evidence implicates the senior Watt in the girl's death, Allison is convinced that the victim is trying to reveal the truth to her. Meanwhile, Joe (Jake Weber) has a close encounter with mortality when a young colleague (guest star Joey Slotnick) suffers a fatal heart attack. J.D. ponders how the lives of everyone at Sacred Heart, including his patient, would turn out if left in the hands of the writer. Elsewhere, Turk (Donald Faison) and Carla (Judy Reyes) are struggling to keep the romance in their relationship while Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) and Dr. Kelso (Ken Jenkins) continue their one-upmanship over whose job is harder. For the first time, portions of this episode were shot in front of a live studio audience in the manner of a traditional sitcom.
