NBC PRESENTS A FRIDAY NIGHT EVENT FEBRUARY 18 BEGINNING AT 9:00 P.M. (ET) WHEN THE TEAM FROM MEDICAL INVESTIGATION ARRIVES TO HEAD OFF A MYSTERY DISEASE THREATENING NEW YORK ON THIRD WATCH

BURBANK, Calif. -- February 7, 2005 -- Fans of NBCs hot Friday night line-up are in for a special treat on Friday, February 18 beginning at 9:00 p.m. when the emergency units from Third Watch join forces with the team from Medical Investigation is a special two-hour, two-show crossover event.

Our partnership with an excellent series like Third Watch fueled us creatively -- enabling us to cash in on dramatic situations only a crossover can uniquely provide, commented Craig W. Van Sickle, Executive Producer of Medical Investigation. Our thanks to everyone at Third Watch and our own team for making this tandem episode a special one that the viewers are sure to enjoy.

Medical Investigation is a great show, and this is the perfect opportunity for a crossover because our two worlds do touch in real life." Said Ed Bernero, Executive Producer of Third Watch. "Overall is was a great experience."

Beginning with a special episode of Third Watch at 9:00 p.m. (ET), Dr. Connor (Neal McDonough from NBC's drama "Medical Investigation") and Dr. Durant (guest star Kelli Williams) from the elite N.I.H. team, are called into New York after a captured jewelry store thief, who is AWOL from the Army, displays symptoms of an unknown contagious disease that is spreading fast -- and his infected accomplice is still on the run. Meanwhile, Cruz (Tia Texada) witnesses a gangbanger gunned down by a 13-year-old boy while in her custody and she senses a slick rival (guest star Wyclef Jean as Marcel) is behind the murder. In addition, Yokas (Molly Price) has doubts about her former partner and a worried Carlos (Anthony Ruivivar) gets a pleasant surprise. Coby Bell, Cara Buono, Nia Long, Josh Stewart, Skipp Sudduth and Jason Wiles also star.

At 10:00 p.m., the drama continues on Medical Investigation as the rest of the team joins Conner (Neal McDonough) and Natalie (Kellie Williams) in New York as they race against the clock to determine what the deadly virus is that has landed paramedic Carlos Nieto (Anthony Ruivivar, NBC's "Third Watch") in the ICU with the same symptoms as the robbery suspect that he was attending to. Conner teams up with Detective Faith Yokas (Molly Price, NBC's "Third Watch") to search for the robber's accomplice, whom they hope will lead them to the source of the disease. Meanwhile, Eva (Anna Belknap) tries to console Holly (Yvonne Jung, "Third Watch") as she waits to learn if Carlos is going to live or die. As more infected people arrive at the hospital, the team rushes to track down the source of the mysterious illness before more patients die. Chris Gorham and Troy Winbush also star.

This Friday night event is the latest in a series of such cross-promotional campaigns on NBC. The most recent being the crossover between Crossing Jordan and Las Vegas which generated ratings surges for both shows. That event delivered the highest "Crossing Jordan" 18-49 rating since May 2002 and generated the biggest overall audience ever for "Las Vegas." Previously, the "Third Watch"-"ER" crossover in April of 2002 was also extremely successful, resulting in the highest "Third Watch" ratings to date -- a 7.0 rating, 16 share among adults 18-49 and 17.2 million viewers overall.

Third Watch is from John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. John Wells, Christopher Chulack, and Edward Allen Bernero are executive producers. Bernero and Wells are co-creators.

"Medical Investigation" is executive-produced by Steven Long Mitchell and Craig W. Van Sickle (The Pretender), Bob Cooper, Scott Vila (The Simple Life) and Marc Buckland (Ed). The series is created and co-executive produced by Jason Horwitch (The Pentagon Papers).

The series is from NBC Universal Television Studio and Paramount Network Television in association with Landscape Entertainment.
