QUICK TAKE
DIXIE CARTER AND HAL HOLBROOK TO GUEST STAR ON ABC'S "HOPE & FAITH"
Dixie Carter ("Designing Women") and her husband of 20 years, three-time Emmy winner Hal Holbrook, will guest star on ABC's hit comedy "Hope & Faith," playing the eccentric and annoying parents of Ted McGinley's character, Charley, and the in-laws of Faith Ford's character, Hope.
In the episode, entitled "A Room of One's Own," Joyce Shanowski (Carter) leaves her husband, Edward (Holbrook) and moves in with her son and daughter-in law, subjecting them - and Hope's wacky sister, Faith (Kelly Ripa) -- to her hilarious pushiness.
Carter co-starred in the hit television series "Designing Women" (1986-93,) as well as the series "Family Law" and "Filthy Rich." Holbrook won Emmys for "Lincoln" (1976), "Pueblo" (1973) and "The Bold Ones: The Senator" (1971). He was also nominated for six additional Emmys: "Awakening Land" (1978), "That Certain Summer" (1972), "A Clear and Present Danger" (1971), "Mark Twain Tonight" (1967), "Our Town" (1967) and "The Whole World is Watching" (1969).
"Hope & Faith" stars Faith Ford as Hope, Kelly Ripa as Faith, Ted McGinley as Charley, Megan Fox as Sydney, Macey Cruthird as Hayley and Paulie Litt as Justin.
