"AMERICA'S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK" REACHES MILESTONE 800TH EPISODE SATURDAY, MARCH 26, ON FOX
Capture of Two Fugitive Brothers Also Featured This Week
After more than 17 years of tracking down the nation's most notorious criminals, AMERICA'S MOST WANTED celebrates its monumental 800th episode this Saturday, March 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Since the series premiere on Feb. 7, 1988, 834 fugitives have been taken down and 41 missing children have been safely returned to their families as a direct result of the program. Of the 834 captures, 15 have been from the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted Fugitives" list and 24 from the U.S. Marshals' "15 Most Wanted" list. Thanks to viewer tips, fugitives have been caught in 18 other countries around the world - as far away as South Africa, New Zealand and Brazil.
AMW is among the 10 longest-running primetime shows ever and is the fifth-longest-running show currently airing in primetime. The award-winning series has no plans to slow down - as long as there are criminals on the streets, AMW will be there to hunt them down.
Featured in this episode is a segment on two of the most recent captures directly linked to AMW viewer tips. Fugitive brothers Alfonso and Jahbir Fowle, on the run for more than a year, had landed on John Walsh's "Dirty Dozen" list. The most heinous crime they are accused of committing is the murder of an innocent 8-year-old boy, who was struck by a stray bullet during a shootout over the brothers' drug turf. The shootout occurred only two weeks after the brothers were released from prison, after serving time for burglary charges.
AMERICA'S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK, now in its 18th season, airs Saturdays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. AMERICA'S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK is produced by STF Productions, Inc. Lance Heflin is executive producer.
