BRAVO GETS YOUNGER AND REMAINS MOST UPSCALE NETWORK
ACHIEVED HIGHEST PRIMETIME ADULT 18-49 DELIVERIES FOR ANY FIRST QUARTER IN NETWORK HISTORY
BRAVO DELIVERS INCREASES IN PRIMETIME AUDIENCES ACROSS ALL KEY DEMOS
NEW YORK -- March 29, 2005 -- In the first quarter of 2005, Bravo has garnered its youngest quarter ever, while still maintaining the status as the most upscale entertainment network among adults 25-54. The primetime median age of 43.3 is down more than two years versus the fourth quarter of 2004 and down seven years since NBC acquired Bravo at the end of the fourth quarter of 2002.
In addition, Bravo has also witnessed substantial increases in viewership across all key demographics, versus the fourth quarter of 2004. Breakout original programming and celebrated films have given Bravo the most successful period in the networks history in the first quarter of 2005. New episodes of the hit series "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," "Celebrity Poker Showdown" and "Inside the Actors Studio" along with the success of the new series "Project Runway" have helped achieve the following:
The highest primetime adult 18-49 delivery for a first quarter ever with 279,000 viewers
Increase in Bravo's prime averages in all key demographics. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2004, Bravo's prime audience grew 30 percent in adults 18-49, 22 percent in adults 25-54, 22 percent among total viewers and 20 percent in households
Increase of 42 percent in deliveries of women 18-49 and 19 percent in men 18-49
Films and original series continue to flourish in the first quarter helping Bravo achieve its best individual Wednesday and Saturday primetime averages in adults 18-49 and 25-54 in the network's history, behind the finale of "Project Runway" on Wednesday, February 23 and the Saturday, February 5 airing of "Braveheart." The "Project Runway" finale gave Bravo the highest rated Wednesday night ever in households, adults 18-49, 25-54, 18-34 and total viewers and lifting Bravo to number one that night among adults 18-49, number two in adults 18-34 and number 3 in adults 25-54 among all cable networks. "Braveheart" gave Bravo the highest Saturday night ever in both key adult 18-49 and 25-54 demographics.
The following other programming highlights also contributed to Bravo's success throughout the first quarter of 2005:
"Project Runway," the highest rated show in households, adults 18-49, 25-54, 18-34 and total viewers in network history in the Wednesday 9:00 p.m. ? 10:00 p.m. time period, was the youngest series with a median age of 34.4 in the network's history, with the finale ranking as the number one telecast of the season on Bravo in all key demographics.
The season premiere of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" on January 11 posted increases of 370 percent in adults 18-49 and 312 percent in 25-54 versus Bravo's fourth quarter primetime average while remaining the network's number one show among adults 25-54 this season.
The fifth tournament of "Celebrity Poker Showdown" posted increases of 23 percent in households, 33 percent in total viewers, 5 percent in adults 18-49 and 9 percent in 25-54 from the fourth tournament's average.
The January 2 premiere of "Inside the Actors Studio: Morgan Freeman" delivered the largest audience in adults 18-49 for the series this season, while "Inside the Actors Studio: Robert Redford" January 30 premiere delivered the most total viewers for the series this season.
