"SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE" CLOSES OUT ITS 30TH SEASON WITH HOST LINDSAY LOHAN AND MUSICAL GUEST COLDPLAY ON MAY 21

NEW YORK -- May 11, 2005 -- NBC's "Saturday Night Live" finishes up its 30th season with Lindsay Lohan hosting and a special performance from musical guest Coldplay on Saturday, May 21 (LIVE 11:30 pm - 1:00 am).

One of the hottest young actresses today, Lohan makes her second SNL hosting appearance. She recently co-starred with Tina Fey in the comedy smash "Mean Girls," (written by Fey and produced by Lorne Michaels) which was just nominated for four MTV Movie Awards. Lohan hosted those awards last year where she was named "Female Breakout Star." Lohan will next be seen in Disney's "Herbie: Fully Loaded." And has two other films to follow: "Just My Luck" and "The Prairie Home Companion" opposite Meryl Streep. Recently, Lohan pursued her musical ambitions, releasing her first record, "Speak," in 2004. Her other film credits include the hit comedy "Freaky Friday" with Jamie Lee Curtis, "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" and Disney's well-regarded remake of "The Parent Trap" with Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson.

Joining Lohan and making their second appearance on the show is musical guest Coldplay. One of the biggest bands in the world, the British group will perform songs from their eagerly anticipated third album "X & Y." The record, due in June, is the follow up to their Grammy Award winning multi-platinum "A Rush of Blood To The Head" and their equally huge "Parachutes." The band also has the distinction of being the only band ever to win the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album for two consecutive years. Coldplay's first single "Speed of Sound" is already at the top of the charts, debuting at #1 when it was released on the iTunes music service and in the Top Ten on Billboard's Singles Chart.
