FINAL THREE "AMERICAN IDOL" CONTESTANTS EACH TO HAVE AN ADDITIONAL PHONE NUMBER FOR VOTING THIS TUESDAY, MAY 17, ON FOX
This week America will be watching and voting to determine who will be the Final 2 contestants on AMERICAN IDOL. Throughout the season, each contestant has been assigned a single phone number for voting purposes. Now fans of Bo Bice, Vonzell Solomon and Carrie Underwood will have an expanded opportunity to cast their votes after Tuesday's performance show, because each contestant will be assigned two phone numbers instead of one on AMERICAN IDOL Tuesday, May 17 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.
Immediately after the show, the phone lines will open and AMERICAN IDOL viewers can vote for their favorite singer by calling either of two toll-free numbers assigned to that contestant.
"With the volume of calls this season already exceeding last year's, we felt it was important to give fans additional phone numbers in an attempt to reduce congestion," stated executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz of FremantleMedia.
AMERICAN IDOL TUESDAY ranks as the No. 1 program of the season among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers.
Eight-time Emmy-nominated AMERICAN IDOL is created and executive-produced by Simon Fuller, founder of 19 Entertainment; and executive-produced by Cecile Frot-Coutaz, Chief Operating Officer, Production, FremantleMedia North America, Inc.; Nigel Lythgoe, President, 19 Television; and Ken Warwick, Executive Producer, FremantleMedia North America, Inc.
