SCI FI CHANNEL BOOSTS ITS PROGRAMMING TEAM
Chris Regina Upped to Vice President, Programming
Colleen Lehman Appointed Director, Alternative Programming
New York, NY-June 9, 2005-Leading into its most explosive summer to date, with six original series premiering in July, SCI FI Channel has made key changes to its programming team. In New York, Chris Regina has been promoted to Vice President, Programming, reporting to Thomas P. Vitale, Senior Vice President of Programming & Original Movies. In Los Angeles, Colleen Lehman has joined the company as Director, Alternative Programming, reporting to Rob Swartz, Vice President of Alternative Programming.
For the past seven years, Chris Regina has managed the strategic planning and scheduling for SCI FI. He also served as the development executive on the series 'LEXX' and was on the advisory board for SCI FI's original short film arm, Exposure Studios. In his new role, he continues to oversee long-term strategic planning and scheduling, and manages the Standards & Practices department. He is also heavily involved in developing the Channel's wildly successful Saturday action movies. Prior to joining SCI FI, Regina was the Program Director at WGTW in Philadelphia, where he handled all program negotiations, acquisitions, scheduling and budgeting. He also headed up Off-Air Marketing & Promotion.
Colleen Lehman joins SCI FI's Alternative Development division with nearly a decade of experience as a television producer. Most recently, she served as Senior Producer on Fox's reality hit 'The Swan' and Supervising Producer on ABC's 'Life of Luxury.' At SCI FI, she supervises production on 'Master Blasters,' the new one-hour original reality series that pits crews of amateur rocket scientists against SCI FI's Master Blasters team of father and son rocket men, Dan and Terry Stroud. Lehman also oversees development and production on a broad range of alternative programming, including animation, comedy and specials.
SCI FI's biggest summer ever will kick off with the return of the hit 'SCI FI Friday' lineup on July 15. Sophomore seasons of 'Battlestar Galactica' and 'Stargate Atlantis' will follow the ninth season premiere of 'Stargate SG-1' - now the longest running sci-fi series on television. On July 27, SCI FI unveils its all-new alternative reality line-up, 'SCI FI Wednesday,' featuring the series premiere of 'Master Blasters,' and the second seasons of 'Ghost Hunters' and 'Tripping the Rift.'
