Adult Swim Again Ranks #1 in Weekly Adults 18-34 and 18-24 Delivery and Rating, Up Double-Digits Compared to Last Year�s Performance
Ties MTV in Top 10 Programs of the Week for Adults 18-34 Demo
Claims 18 of Top 50 Basic Cable Programs for the Week among Adults 18-34, More than Any Other Network
Adult Swim continues to claim the #1 ranking for the week among all key young adult demos�adults 18-34, adults 18-24, men 18-34 and men 18-24�tying MTV with four shows each landing within the Top 10 programs of the week among the coveted adults 18-34 demo, according to Nielsen Media Research. With continued double-digit growth compared to its own performance on Cartoon Network last year, the late-night service also ranked #3 among all ad-supported basic cable networks for the week both in total day delivery of adults 18-49 (603,000).
Highlights of Adult Swim�s weekly performance vs. Adult Swim programming on Cartoon Network the same week in 2004 include the following:
ADULT SWIM (Monday-Thursday, Saturday-Sunday, 11 p.m.-6 a.m.)
- Adults 18-34 delivery (460,000) increased by 16% and ratings (0.7) by 17%.
- Adults 18-24 delivery (271,000) improved by 15% and ratings (1.0) by 11%.
- Men 18-34 delivery (279,000) expanded by 17% and ratings (0.9) by 29%.
- Two telecasts of Family Guy and Futurama each landed among the Top 10 programs of the week for adults 18-34
On an individual programming basis, Adult Swim scored 18 of the top 50 programs with adults 18-34 for the week among ad-supported basic cable, more than any other network. Standout series included off-net acquisitions Family Guy (#5, 10, 14, 16, 22, 30, 32) and Futurama (#7, 8, 13), as well as original series Robot Chicken (#21, 27, 39) and Aqua Teen Hunger Force (#26, 28, 33-35).
Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), launched on Cartoon Network in 2001, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.�s network dedicated to edgy animated comedy and action series, both original and acquired, airing Saturday-Thursday from 11 p.m-6 a.m. (ET, PT).
